  1. How old must I be to get a work permit? Students who are aged 12 – 17 and have a job must have a work permit.
  2. I do babysitting, do I need a work permit? No, you do not need a work permit if you work occasional jobs such as babysitting or mowing grass.
  3. How do I get a Work Permit? You must apply for a Work Permit. It is a green form located outside the PIE office in the counseling area on the wall beside the office door. Once the form is completed by you, your parent and your employer, the form is returned to Ms. Rudd and she will issue your work permit. You will need to come in person to get this issued as you must sign it.
  4. How long does it take to get a work permit? Work permits are usually issued within 24 hours.
  5. Do I need good grades to get a work permit? Yes, you must be passing all your classes to get a work permit. If you are not passing all your classes, you may be issued a temporary work permit until you can raise your grades by the next grading period.
  6. I am getting a job working in the entertainment industry. Do I need work permit for this? Yes, you need a different work permit and you can get one from this website here
  7. I am over 18, do I need a work permit? No, you do not need a work permit once you turn 18. If you graduate high school before you are 18, you also do not need a work permit.
